Some Mother's Son

The movie is based on a true story, which makes it very valuable. The story portrays the human aspect of Britain's ocupation of Northern Ireland and it shows how the two mothers struggle through their everyday life under the influence of oppression.

As it is based on a true story, I believe the movie would be very valuable to watch. I can't recommend anything as I haven't seen it, but it has gotten great critics so I believe it sure is worth watching.

About the British ocupation, I must say it is a modern example of imperialism and some kind of colonialism. Watching the movie will give you a great illustration of how it is to live in a modern society under the influence of ocupation, and how hard it can be to remain hopeful when everything is pointing against you, just because you resist the ocupation.

Hollywood reinforces misery

So what's succes about for me? IT'S ABOUT GLOOOORY!

No but seriously, success for me has always been about setting goals and accomplishing them. Whatever those goals might be, huge goals or everyday life goals, if I accomplish them - I feel good. And that's all there is, isn't it? Being happy!

A lot of people think that money is the way to happiness or the definition of success. Well, for some people yes, money can lead to happiness or even self fulfillment. However, for most people it's not like that. But still, a lot of those people still try to get that money. Why? Probably they don't realize that money won't give them the happiness they want.

We are all socially conditioned to think that money is the definition of success, and we all want success - because success leads to happiness. Hollywood is a great example of that; we watch a movie, where the protagonist is a rich and succesfull person AND he seems to be really happy. However, we don't realize that it isn't his money which makes him happy. More often it's just the other way around! The character's happiness (and self fulfillment, not coming from a position of neediness like "I need this money to make me happy") and his commitment to accomplishing his goals are what leads to his financial success. Or whatever success that might be.

This post is about some fun times in 2009!

Me and my dad went to Spain, or Gran Canaria rather (I usually just say Spain, sounds cooler to be honest) and stayed there during the holiday - and we certainly had a blast!

The weather was great, the hotel we stayed at was also incredibly good, we met a lot of nice people. Especially one guy, who's from spain and owns a tapas restaurant there.
